This year's annual Tri-State Tournament was held at Hanover Country Club, Hanover, NH on June 22 and 23, 2009. The tournament is a team competition among Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont with each state sending a 30-person team. Maine won this year's competition defeating a charging Vermont team by a narrow 6 point margin. Maine, who had an 11.5 point lead at the close of the first day of competition, ended with a total of 149 points. Vermont was second with 143 points, and New Hampshire finished in third with 113 points. This is Maine's first win since 2001.
The top point winners for Vermont in the alternate shot format were the teams of Rhonda Colvard/Edith Hiller, 5 points, Pam Shover/Janet Hayden, 5 points, and Ellen Sheffer/Diane Jones with 4 points.
The top Vermont point winners in individual match play were Edith Hiller, 6 points, Pam Shover, 6 points, Kristin Mahoney, 5.5 points, Ellen Sheffer, 5.5 points, Diane Jones, 5.5 points, Mickey Potwin, 5 points, Bonnie Heald, 5 points, and Janet Hayden, 5 points.
