The Vermont Agriculture Hall of Fame Committee has announced the inductees for 2016.
Recipients are chosen based on their accomplishments and significant contributions to Vermont agriculture. They are:
• Gordon J. Booth, Barre dairy farmer and legislator (posthumously)
• Anne C. Brown, Vermont Morgan Horse breeder and promotor
• Walter and Sally Goodrich, dairy farmers and acclaimed Jersey breeders
• Ralph McNall, dairy farmer and industry leader
These nominees will be honored on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, during the luncheon at the Champlain Valley Exposition.
Also during that time, the black and white photographs of the 2015 inductees will be revealed. These photos will feature Putnam Blodgett, Arthur Clifford, James Harvey, Governor Frederick Holbrook and Mariafranca Morselli.
Family members and representatives from many agricultural organizations in Vermont will be in attendance as we honor these deserving individuals.
The sixty-one photographs depicting sixty-three former nominees are on display in the entryway of the Robert E. Miller Building and can be viewed during the Fair as well as throughout the year. We encourage Vermonters to visit the exhibition and remember the many contributions these folks have made to our industry.
