Specialty Food Association elects president, recognizes past president

The Vermont Specialty Food Association has elected Kim Crosby as president. Crosby owns and operates Vermont Roots, a distributor of Vermont specialty foods in Rutland. Also elected were George Gooss of Catamount Specialties as vice president and Bob Christoffel of Creative Labels as secretary-treasurer.

In addition, the following people were elected or re-elected to serve on the organization’s board of directors: Roger Myers of Lake Champlain Chocolates, Jack Gilbert of Candeleros, Whitney Lamy of Castleton Crackers and Steve Andrews of American Flatbread.

Jaquelyn Rieke of Nutty Steph’s Granola and Chocolate Factory has stepped down as association president after leading the organization the past two years. As board president, Jaquelyn was instrumental in establishing member networking meetings, laying the groundwork for changes coming to the VSFA website and a continued presence for VSFA at the State House.

The Vermont Specialty Food Association is a statewide organization representing over 100 Vermont food producers and about 20 suppliers to the industry. It is the nation’s oldest and one of the most highly regarded specialty food organizations.
