Rutland Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Thomas Schmidt, MD is now affiliated with Rutland Regional Neurology Center, specializing in the diagnosis, and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disorders of the nervous system.
Dr. Schmidt received a BS in Life Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, M.S. Ed from National Louis University, in Evanston, Illinois, and medical degree from the University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio. He completed his residency in neurology at the University of Vermont Medical Center Hospital in 2016. Prior to coming to Rutland Regional, he had been with UP Health System in Marquette, Michigan.
“I was a teacher for 10 years before pursuing medicine, and many of the skills are very similar to my role as a physician. Neurology is particularly engaging because it requires listening, observing, and interacting with a patient as well as educating the patient and family. I truly enjoy meeting patients and, with the RRMC team, providing the best care possible.”
