Most Rev Christopher J Coyne announced that Lisa Lorenz, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, will be the Interim Principal for Rice Memorial High School for the Academic Year of 2017-2018 as the national search for principal of Rice continues this coming year. Lisa will begin this interim role August 1st and I know the Rice community will welcome and support her.
Lisa Lorenz is an experienced school administrator and I am grateful for her strong commitment to Catholic education. Lisa has a BA in psychology from Rutgers University, 1994, a MA in Moral Theology from St Charles Borromeo, 1997, and a MS in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University, 2008. She has over 27 years of experience in Catholic, public and private education. Lisa began her career as a middle school teacher, then became an administrator, a licensed counselor, Coordinator for Counseling Programs for both Mental Health and School Counseling in Higher Education, and principal of St. Therese Digital Academy Online High School. She currently serves as Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Burlington. She is a licensed counselor in Vermont.
In addition, Fr Scott Gratton has agreed to accept the position of Vice Principal for Catholic Mission. While Fr. Scott’s actual time at Rice will continue to be part-time, he will in this role serve to encourage the Catholic identity and mission of Rice in all areas of student and institutional life. He will continue to work collaboratively with the campus ministry staff and priest class chaplains to help students become faithful adult disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Diocese is contracting with Partners in Mission, an executive school search firm specializing in Catholic education, to find a permanent Principal in collaboration with Rice’s school board and search committee. The search committee is comprised of the following members:
