Norwich University coach named president of NSCA Foundation board

Scott Caulfield

Scott Caulfield, director of strength and conditioning and adjunct instructor in the health and human performance department at Norwich University, has been named president of the board of directors at the National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation. He is the first full-time college strength and conditioning coach to receive such an appointment.

The NSCA boasts a combined membership of over 60,000 worldwide and is split into two distinct leadership groups: the NSCA Board of Directors and the NSCA Foundation Board of Directors.

“To have such a distinguished coach as Scott Caulfield take up the reigns as (foundation) president is great news for the organization and the profession of strength and conditioning,” said Ian Jeffreys, president-elect of the NSCA Board of Directors. “Scott is a highly experienced and respected coach. His insight and expertise will help the foundation continue its excellent work in ensuring our future professionals have the opportunities to help them thrive.”

Caulfield joined Norwich in 2021 from Colorado College, where he served as director of strength and conditioning and adjunct professor. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at the NSCA as head strength and conditioning coach, coaching education manager and performance center manager. He is a graduate of Vermont State University and holds a master's degree in sport coaching from the University of Denver.
