Northwestern Medical Center is pleased to announce that Joel Benware accepted the position of Vice President of Information Systems and Compliance at the hospital.
Benware most recently worked at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY and prior to that worked as the Chief Technical Officer at the Albany College of Pharmacy. He holds two Master’s degrees: one in Instructional Technologies and another in Healthcare Administration, has worked on the strategic planning, implementation of Meditech and Medent systems and facilitated many interface projects.
“Joel’s vast experience in the electronic health record implementation, maximizing the capability of the software, and system integration to ensure effective communication and security of information will be invaluable to complete our transition from paper to electronic records,” says NMC CEO Jill Berry Bowen.
A native of Malone, Joel is moving to the Franklin County area with his wife and three kids, perhaps bringing his little league coaching experience with him. He’s also run four marathons and navigated the Tough Mudder obstacle course on Vermont’s Mount Snow.
