Jay Parent, of South Burlington, VT, has been promoted to Director of Operations Safety and Community Outreach at NG Advantage LLC. Jay created and implements the Colchester-based company’s safety, training, and compliance programs and teaches staff and customers as well as first responders about natural gas under pressure (compressed natural gas or CNG) and about NG Advantage’s equipment including its fleet of high-tech carbon fiber trailers. He frequently receives accolades from first responder groups he has worked with and is now considered a national expert on trucking CNG safely.
In his new position Jay will continue to be responsible for overseeing and implementing all safety policies and procedures for NG Advantage as well as the CNG training programs for first responders and customers. He is now additionally responsible for cultivating and building new relationships with first responders wherever in the country NG Advantage expands as well as manufacturers within the gas industry.
NG Advantage is providing a service that is new to most plant managers. For plants not on a gas pipeline, the option of receiving natural gas delivered by tractor/trailer has only been available for three years, so training is required to bring the energy buyers and plant managers up to speed with this new service.
NG Advantage CEO Tom Evslin, congratulated Jay: “Jay Parent has taken great initiative in developing and implementing NG Advantage’s internal and customer safety programs. Safety is the first priority at NG Advantage and Jay has coordinated our efforts very, very well. His promotion is well-earned. ”
