New compliance and quality manager at RMHS

Joseph Twarog, Esq. has been hired as Manager of Compliance and Quality for Rutland Mental Health Services. Mr. Twarog holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from SUNY Oswego and a law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School. He was recently an associate attorney at a law practice in Rochester, New York, where he specialized in workers’ compensation claims. Mr. Twarog will have primary agency responsibility for assuring adherence to state and federal laws and regulations, compliance with safety and service rights of clients, and oversight of general corporate risk and compliance. He will also have responsibility for managing quality from the perspective of complaints, grievances and appeals, and internal reports, and will evaluate metrics to facilitate improvement.

Located in Rutland, Vermont, Rutland Mental Health Services is the Designated Agency for Rutland County for adult and children’s mental health and developmental disabilities services. It is also certified for substance abuse services by the Vermont Department of Health. RMHS employs 275 full-time and 100 part-time employees. Across all program areas, RMHS serves over 3,000 people each year. Programming is organized, aligned and managed according to community need, and services are provided for every age.
