National Council for Behavioral Health announces new board members

Earlier this month, the National Council for Behavioral Health announced the appointment of new board members to the organization’s Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2020.

Tomasz L. Jankowski, DPT, MHA, MBA, brings more than three decades of experience in the health care industry to the National Council, including neurosciences, mental health, addiction, rehabilitation, physician group practice, and home health care. Since June 2018 he has served as president and chief executive officer of Northeast Kingdom Human Services with offices in Derby and St. Johnsbury, Vt.

“I look forward to working with Dr. Jankowski and all our new Board members in the months ahead,” said Board Chair Jeff Richardson, vice president and chief operating officer of Sheppard Pratt Health System. “Community behavioral health clinics face incredible challenges. Their experience and enthusiasm will be a wonderful asset to all National Council members as we navigate the road ahead.”

Prior to joining Northeast Kingdom Human Services, Dr. Jankowski served as director of the Neuroscience Institute and director of Ambulatory Rehabilitation at Mercy Health and The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, respectively.

Dr. Jankowski is an accomplished author and contributor on multiple health care topics and his work has been published in the Remington Report, Healthcare Review, Strategic Healthcare Marketing and the Managed Care Contract Negotiator. He has served and continues to serve on multiple corporate and community boards. He is a certified strategic planner by the American Management Association, a member of numerous professional associations and a past member of the Editorial Board of American College of Healthcare Executives.

“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Jankowski to the National Council Board of Directors as we face unprecedented challenges to health care due to the pandemic," said Chuck Ingoglia, president and CEO of the National Council. "As a highly respected health care advocate, we look forward to leveraging his experience and expertise as we work to ensure the highest quality care is available for all people with mental illness and substance use disorders."

“ I am honored to have been elected to the National Council’s Board of Directors and I look forward to joining my esteemed colleagues in advancing the mental health and addiction business and legislative agenda at the national stage,” said Dr. Tomasz Jankowski. “There are, indeed, multiple, complex, and very important issues challenging our sector of the healthcare industry, and some of those may be, in fact, of an existential importance. As Board Director, I shall ensure my full support of the National Council’s efforts in shaping strategic policies and securing adequate funding,” he added.
