JMM & Associates announces the retirement on June 30, 2014 of former managing partner, Sherry Prehoda, CPA. Sherry joined the firm in 1986 and became a shareholder in 1990 with a focus on individuals and small business that included tax, advisory, development, and financial statement services.
Throughout her career, Sherry was not only a member of--but also held various positions with--the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants, Burlington Rotary Club, Women Business Owners of Vermont, Lund Family Center, Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Vermont Board of Public Accountancy, and the former Discovery Museum.
In 1997, she became the first woman to win the Public Service Award from the Vermont Society of CPAs and was presented with the Frederick Tuttle Award in 2007 from the Burlington Rotary Club. The Frederick Tuttle Award is given to a community member who has shown exemplary work in the community; the Public Service Award goes to a member that demonstrated a commitment to public service beyond the norm.
Sherry's career-long member and mentorships will permanently be a credit to the CPA profession and the community.
