Bruce Hyde, Jr has returned to the Valley to help manage the family business, the Hyde Away Inn & Restaurant in Fayston, VT. “I have always loved the Valley and the amazing community. I grew up at the Restaurant and I always felt I’d make this my home.”
Bruce grew up in the Valley, and then moved to Ithaca, NY where he studied at the Hotel School at Cornell University. He remained in Ithaca for several years where he fueled his passion for music in his band, LOFTS, and his appetite for the culinary arts, working with friends and restaurateurs with concepts, menus creation and day-to-day operations. Bruce is excited to bring his expertise home to the Hyde Away.
His focus at the Hyde Away is on bringing the freshest ingredients to the table while offering creative and healthy fare. He has been working with local farmers to bring fresh, high quality food to the new Hyde Away menu. “It’s so important to support our local producers, because it strengthens our community. I believe that simple food; farm-fresh at a fair price is the way to go. I’m really excited about the potential.” Bruce has also introduced Mason Jar cocktails with fresh squeezed juices, house-made cordials, and house-made ginger beer in the Tavern. A new wine list on the way along with new brews featuring up and coming brewers.
Opened in 1987, The Hyde Away Inn & Restaurant is a member of the Vermont Fresh Network. The restaurant serves 7 nights from 4 pm until 10 pm.
