The Davis & Hodgdon Advisory Group, a business and financial services firm with offices in Williston and Rutland, has announced the retirement of founding partner John W. Davis.
Davis founded John Davis and Associates CPAs in 1990; with the addition of Bret Hodgdon as a partner in 2005, the firm was renamed to Davis & Hodgdon Associates. In 2015 Davis led the firm’s merger with a Rutland-based accounting firm, representing a significant opportunity to serve clients with an extensive range of services and expanded talent pool.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Davis been an active member of the Vermont community throughout his career. He is a member of the South Burlington Rotary and previously served as vice chair of the Vermont Economic Progress Council. He has also been a board member of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center and treasurer and member of the executive committee for Age Well.
Davis, whose transition into retirement began in 2020, when Hodgdon took the reins as managing partner, intends to serve as an adviser to the firm on a limited basis.
