CVMC Auxiliary elects officers and names Auxilian of the Year

Rena Chernick, long-time resident of Warren and currently a Montpelier resident was voted in as president of the Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary. Rena has been a hospital volunteer since the late 1980s, has been on the auxiliary board for 14 years, and is a member of the CVMC Board of Trustees. Heidi Pelletier, Montpelier, is president-elect, Carol Welch, East Montpelier, is vice president, Robin Brandis, Elmore, is secretary and Sarah Miller, Montpelier, is treasurer.

The Auxiliary also announced the 2009 Auxilian of the Year, Wanda Baril. She been an active member for fifteen years and has served in a variety of roles for the Auxiliary, including six years as president.

The CVMC Auxiliary operates the gift shop off the main lobby at the hospital and the Bene-fit Shop, a thrift shop in Barre. The Bene-Fit Shop is located to the left of Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel on Main Street in Barre. All proceeds from the Bene-Fit Shop and the gift shop are used to support programs at CVMC and provide scholarships to local students studying for a career in health care.

Membership in the auxiliary is open to all persons who are interested in the purposes and activities of the organization.
