Vermont trade leader Tim Tierney elected to NECBC board

Tim Tierney, Vermont director of international trade and business recruitment, has been elected to the New England-Canada Business Council Board of Directors.Tierney serves as the main point of contact for Vermont state government for trade and direct foreign investment through his position at the Department of Economic Development at the Agency of Commerce and Community Development. He oversees the business support team, the State Trade Expansion Program and two social equity business assistance programs.

“I’m honored to be joining the board of NECBC and look forward to all the ways this added role can support Vermont in building deeper economic and cultural connections to Canada, particularly Québec and the provinces of Atlantic Canada, and our five neighboring New England states,” Tierney said.

Best known for its annual Boston Executive Energy Conference held each November, NECBC also sponsors regular events including an upcoming March 9 luncheon in Boston with US Ambassador to Canada David Cohen and an April 12 finance and trade executive conference being held at the TD Garden in Boston.
