Upper Valley attorneys join Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

Prominent local attorneys Wilhelmina Dingemans Miller and Elizabeth K. Rattigan have joined the offices of the northern New England law firm of Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. The two women have become directors of the firm and both will work from DRM’s Lebanon Office.
“This is the fifth year since Joe Daschbach and I combined our practice with DRM in the Upper Valley, and there is no better way to celebrate than by welcoming Willemien and Beth to the firm,” said Tom Csatari, a director in DRM’s Lebanon office, whose firm combined its practice with DRM in 2008. “We have been friends and professional colleagues for many years. I am delighted that they are joining our Lebanon office as we continue to build our full-service operation in the Upper Valley.”
Besides Miller, Rattigan, Csatari and Daschbach, attorneys in the Lebanon office include directors Peter Van Oot and Kim Butler and associate Lisa Fearon. The group actively represents clients in business law, environmental law, trusts and estates, employment law, health care law and litigation, and regularly collaborates with colleagues in other specialties in DRM’s remaining offices.
Rattigan focuses her practice in the areas of employment law, labor law and commercial litigation. She represents businesses throughout New Hampshire and Vermont in lawsuits and administrative proceedings arising out of all aspects of the employment relationship, including discrimination claims, harassment claims, retaliation, wrongful termination, trade secrets, noncompetition, wage and hour disputes and other workplace issues. She defends clients before government agencies and the courts, both federal and state. She also provides advice and training to management in order to strengthen employment practices with regard to employment law compliance and human resource issues including hiring, discipline, termination, reductions in force, wage and hour practices, employee training, personnel policies and executive employment agreements.
Before joining DRM, Rattigan practiced employment law and commercial litigation in the Upper Valley area of Vermont and New Hampshire. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Vermont Law School.
Dingemans Miller concentrates her practice in trust and estate planning and administration. She provides advice on all aspects of trust and estate planning for both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens. Her practice includes gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, family business succession planning, asset protection planning, disability planning, conservation easements, charitable planning, and trust and estate administration.
Dingemans Miller began practicing when she first joined DRM in 1987. She was elected to membership as a director of the firm and served as chair of the trust and estate planning practice group from 1994 through 2000. She rejoins the firm and the other members of the practice group after 12 years of practice with another firm in the Upper Valley. She also intends to share time in DRM’s St. Johnsbury Office.
A native of The Netherlands, she is a graduate of Catholic University of Nijmegen School of Law and the University of Virginia School of Law. She has lived in Vermont with her husband, Bob, and two daughters for more than 25 years.
