Democratic state Reps., from left, Mike Rice, Monique Priestley and Mary-Katherine Stone have been selected to join the inaugural class of innovation fellows of Future Caucus, a national organization dedicated to activating young policymakers to bridge the partisan divide and lead a new era of collaborative governance.

The three were among 29 Gen Z and millennial state lawmakers from across the country chosen to participate in the program. Through hands-on research, interactive workshops, expert mentorship and real-world application, the cross-partisan group will enhance their ability to craft durable policy solutions that adapt to ever-changing realities.

"We are so excited to announce this year's inaugural class of Innovation Fellows," said Layla Zaidane, president & CEO of Future Caucus. "The 29 young lawmakers selected for this fellowship represent a more promising future for our country, one where the brightest minds can come together, despite partisan differences, and get things done."

The program started with a Futures Thinking Forum Jan. 20, where the fellows learned the basics of strategic foresight, a skill used by both Fortune 500 CEOs and the military to make decisions when the future is uncertain. They will leverage these new skills to apply forward-looking approaches to complex policy challenges.
