Priscilla Smith of Colchester receives DRM employee award

Priscilla T. Smith, of Colchester, received Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC’s Diane R. Lynch Distinguished Service Award. Smith is a legal secretary in DRM’s Burlington office.

Established in 2000 to honor the firm’s 50th anniversary and in memory of Lynch, the award is given each year to a former or current employee who has demonstrated loyalty, dedication, energy, drive, selflessness, good nature, humor and commitment.

Smith graduated from Mt. Mansfield Union High School and Trinity College. She began working at DRM as a legal secretary in 1996. The award recognized Smith as a leader and innovator, who makes the practice of law better for lawyers, paralegals and staff across generations. It also cited her masterful organizational skills and ability to assemble work product of unassailable quality.

“I’m not really not sure how I could practice law without her,” said Will Dodge, a director of the firm whose practice involves numerous detailed filings before the Public Service Board on behalf of telecommunications clients. “Priscilla’s contributions – like Diane Lynch’s – are what make DRM a special and successful law firm,” added tax attorney and DRM director Roger Prescott.
