The Vermont Public Health Association is pleased to announce that Penrose Jackson has assumed the role as chair of its Board of Directors. Ms. Jackson is Director of Community Health Improvement at Fletcher Allen Health Care, a role she has held for ten years. She takes over the chair from Heidi Klein, who recently joined the Vermont Department of Health as Director of Health Surveillance. Ms. Jackson said, “In taking on this responsibility, I want to give special thanks to Heidi Klein for her leadership over the last two years. During that time the Association has nearly doubled its membership, has created an annual public policy gathering, secured funding for the possible creation of a public health institute, and has helped forge stronger relationships between public health and others from hospitals to statewide organizations. I believe my experience at Fletcher Allen with the growth of patient-centered medical homes will dovetail nicely with Ms. Klein’s excellent legacy.”
The Vermont Public Health Association is a membership organization whose purpose is to protect and promote personal, community and environmental health within our State.
