Peace & Justice Center welcomes new director of programs

Elian Gonzales

Elián González has been appointed director of programs at the Peace & Justice Center, a nonprofit social justice organization based in Burlington. González, who has facilitated workshops at the center for the past two years, succeeds Bella Fearn, who recently stepped down to pursue other opportunities.

"In this time of war and conflict, peace is heavy on my mind," González said in their welcome letter to the PJC community. "My commitment for this next chapter of the Peace and Justice Center story is to bring peace work back into our repertoire in a serious and meaningful way."

González is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where they earned a bachelor's degree in women's, gender and sexuality studies. They have been a student of many schools of movement, including politicized somatics, Afrosurrealism and healing justice.
