Moxie Mehegan named Dean of Admission & Financial Aid at Sterling College

Sterling College is pleased to announce that Moxie Mehegan, of Craftsbury Common, has accepted the role of Dean of Admission & Financial Aid. Mehegan comes to Sterling from Marlboro College, where they most recently served as the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions.

Mehegan’s deep experience in collaborative leadership, programmatic development and project management were important strengths of their candidacy. “Moxie’s creative and strategic approach to admissions work will serve Sterling well in this time of growth and expansion,” said President Matthew Derr. “They will provide leadership to the admission team to ensure that Sterling continues to attract students who want to understand and address the critical ecological issues facing our world, like climate change, and develop the skills to be leaders in their communities.”

In their role as Dean of Admission & Financial Aid, Mehegan serves on the President’s Council and is responsible for recruitment efforts for Sterling’s undergraduate programs in Vermont and Kentucky, as well as overseeing the College’s financial aid department. “I am thrilled to find a position that combines my passion for environmental and social justice work with my professional experiences in admissions,” said Mehegan. “I am inspired by Sterling’s mission to advance ecological thinking and action,and its emphasis on affordability and accessibility for all students.”

Mehegan earned a Master of Business Administration from Marlboro College, with an emphasis in mission-driven organizations, and a bachelor’s degree from Green Mountain College. Previous to their employment at Marlboro, they worked in operations for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England for almost a decade and have a long and active history of grassroots community organizing.
