Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort & Pico Mountain, and Bill Cahill, vice president, general counsel and secretary of Vermont Mutual Insurance Group, have been appointed to the board of directors of the Vermont Futures Project, an independent nonprofit organization that promotes the long-term economic health of Vermont.
At Killington/Piko, Solimano oversees all operational aspects of the largest resort in the eastern United States. Prior to becoming president and general manager, he served for 20 years as the resort's vice president of finance. Solimano is an honors graduate of Niagara University and earned his CPA certificate in 1992.
“I am so excited to join the VT Futures Project to help with their mission to provide data to support the evolution of Vermont’s economy,” Solimano said. “I believe the outdoor recreation industry can have a major impact in helping to attract people to Vermont, and I look forward to helping achieve this in the coming years.”
Cahill has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Vermont Mutual in 2020 from The Hanover Insurance Group, where served as vice president and group counsel. Cahill is a graduate of Middlebury College and holds a law degree from New England Law.
“I am honored to join the Vermont Futures Board on behalf of Vermont Mutual and to support the shared vision that a healthy and vibrant economy provides opportunities for individuals and families and contributes to Vermont’s unique quality of life,” Cahill said.
