McCune named 2018 Vermont Sportscaster of the Year

The National Sports Media Association has named Mike McCune, Sports Director at WCAX-TV, as the 2018 Vermont Sportscaster of the Year. This is the second time McCune has won this honor, the first was in 2013.

Mike joined the WCAX Sports Department in 1999 and has been Sports Director since 2008. He also served as co-host and co-producer of The :30, a news show featuring in depth interviews with a wide variety of guests, for five years.

Prior to joining WCAX, Mike worked in television and radio in White River Junction and Bellows Falls. He attended Dartmouth College where he played football and was a starting offensive lineman on back-to-back Ivy League championship teams in 1990 and 1991.

Mike was born and raised in San Diego and lives in South Burlington with his wife and two children.
