Mark D’Angelo joins BlackRock Construction as CEO

BlackRock Construction co-owners Adam Hergenrother and Tom Hergenrother, Jr. are very pleased to announce Mark D’Angelo as CEO of BlackRock Construction.

Mark has been in the construction management industry for over 35 years. After obtaining a BS in Construction Management from Syracuse University in 1977 he has held a series of management positions of increasing responsibility including Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Vice President of Operations for two different construction companies, and ultimately owner of P. Mark D’Angelo Construction Management. Mark’s prior experience also includes assignments as a direct employee for the Stone and Webster Engineering Company in the nuclear power industry and IBM Real Estate and Construction Division as one of the youngest Senior Project Mangers on their staff. He counts among his broad career experiences working as a contractor, engineer, owner, owner’s representative, expert witness, claims consultant, and architects representative. This diverse career path has provided Mark with a unique perspective and an insider’s understanding of the complex processes that make up the construction industry and just as importantly, how they interact. A consummate manager with strong financial management skills, Mark has never had a project under his management exceed budget, go beyond scheduled completion, or go to litigation.

“We’re excited to be in partnership with Mark and have him at the helm,” said Adam Hergenrother. “His extensive experience, attention to detail, and focus on the client will mean incredible growth for BlackRock Construction.”

In November 2012, Hergenrother Custom Development merged with Adam Hergenrother Construction to form BlackRock Construction to continue to leverage resources and provide unbeatable service to their clients. BlackRock Construction will focus on innovative design for residential homes and on larger commercial projects in the health care, education, environmental, retail, hospitality markets, and more, with an eye on building sustainable communities, creating jobs, and stimulating economic growth worldwide.

As co-owner of BlackRock Construction, Adam’s visionary thinking and extensive background in finance, real estate, and marketing guides the business.
