Theresa Lever was named 2018 Auxilian of the Year by the Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary in recognition of her continued work in supporting cancer patients. “Our honoree for this year loves to sing,” said Marilyn White, President of the CVMC Auxiliary. “She loves to help others and is very involved in the hospital and the community.”
Theresa works as a patient navigator at the National Life Cancer Treatment Center. Theresa started a cancer support group called Alive with Song and sings in the Bethany Church Choir. She also coordinates and helps raise money for CVMC’s Branches of Hope cancer patient fund. The fund provides financial relief to individuals and their families dealing with cancer by helping with both routine and unexpected expenses.
The CVMC Auxiliary was created in 1968 when Heaton Hospital in Montpelier and Barre City Hospital came together to form one hospital now known as Central Vermont Medical Center. Since its inception, this group of committed volunteers has raised more than $1 million for CVMC.
Its mission is “to make a visible impact on our community's education and wellness in partnership with CVMC by selecting, promoting and supporting projects that meet both CVMC and community needs.”
