Klein named medical director at Vermont Department of Mental Health

Kelley-Anne Klein, MD, former medical director at Rochester Regional Health in New York, has been named medical director at the Vermont Department of Mental Health.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome a new medical director with a skill set so well-suited for our current needs,” said Commissioner Emily Hawes. “Her experience in emergency services and knowledge of Vermont’s mental health systems will provide a valuable perspective as we work to address the challenges in mental healthcare today.”

Before her time in New York, Klein served as the medical director of emergency psychiatry at the University of Vermont Medical Center for three years. Additionally, she has served on the program quality committee at the University of Vermont, where she collaborated with legislators and community mental health advocates on a regular basis. Her experience also includes a full-time clinical appointment at the University of Vermont, where she provides outpatient, inpatient and emergency psychiatric services. Klein is a graduate of New York Medical College.
