The Gun Owners of Vermont would like to extend a huge thanks to Eddie Cutler, our founder and President, for his relentless work and dedication to our cause for twenty-two years. As he's explained in his public statement, he's resigned from his role in order to move to Tennessee and enjoy his well-deserved retirement. We will all work to ensure the determination, grit, compassion, humor, and wit of Eddie stays with GOVT now and always in moving forward. To this end we're announcing our Vice President Eric Davis, is stepping into the role of President, while Bob Readie, Washington county chapter lead, is filling the roll of Vice President.
Eric lives in Roxbury, was born and raised in Vermont, and is the founder and owner of his own business. He's an avid enthusiast of the right to keep and bear arms, and believes it is the natural right of every person to defend themselves, their family, and the state.
Bob lives in Warren, having moved here in 2003. He has a career spanning decades in Hazmat and disaster management, and is currently an EHS officer here in Vermont. His passion for the Constitutions of both our state and federal governments, and especially Article 16 and the Second amendment, drives his fierce determination to protect the right to keep and bear arms for everyone.
Gun Owners of Vermont also announced the towns of Pittsford and Holland to become First Second Amendment Sanctuary Towns in Vermont. In two unanimous votes, gun owners and their allies in freedom stood today with their brothers and sisters in Virginia – and across our nation – to safeguard the inalienable human right of self-defense. With these resolutions the towns of Pittsford and Holland now stand as Article Sixteen and Second Amendment sanctuaries, becoming the first Vermont towns to do so.
The Gun Owners of Vermont enthusiastically encourages every town across Vermont to pass similar resolutions. It is only through defense of our rights that we can maintain our rights.
