Franklin chamber to honor Karyn Rocheleau for civic involvement

Retired business executive Karyn Rocheleau will be presented with the Franklin County Regional Chamber of Commerce's 2022 Timothy Bovat Civic Involvement Award Jan 19 at Peoples Trust in St Albans. The award, named for the late Swanton business leader and civic volunteer Timothy Bovat, is presented annually to an individual or group whose investment in the local community "goes above and beyond the norm."

"Karyn’s name is synonymous with giving and volunteerism — something she does with little fanfare," the chamber said in a statement. "Since returning home to St Albans in retirement, Karyn has made it her mission to serve and to give."

A former US Army reservist, Rocheleau enjoyed a long and successful career working at high-powered companies such as Ford, PepsiCo and Union Carbide, where she earned a reputation for her open leadership style and commitment to the community. She has supported the area food shelves Northwest Family Foods and Martha's Community Kitchen; served on the board of Northwestern Medical Center; created community gardens throughout Franklin County; and volunteered at numerous county events including the Expo Home Show, the Festival of Trees and the Tractor Parade. She is currently in her third term as president of the St Albans Rotary.
