The Community Health Centers of Burlington (CHCB) has received a $10,000 donation from New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU).
In addition to the donation, NEFCU hosted a “Sock Drop” collection to benefit CHCB’s homeless patients during the winter months. The “Sock Drop”, now completing its third year, yielded over 400 pairs of new socks donated by NEFCU members.
Warm socks are especially important for CHCB’s homeless patient population, when the lack of proper winter attire could have severe consequences.
“NEFCU is a powerful community partner for CHCB’s mission of care,” explained Alison Calderara, Director of Development and Community Relations at CHCB. “From warm socks to the generous gifts that sustain our assistance programs, NEFCU is a bank with a big heart for its community.”
For more than 40 years the Community Health Centers of Burlington have provided quality healthcare for the community members regardless of financial or insurance status. One of eight Federally Qualified Health Centers in the state, CHCB has five locations and is one of the largest nonprofit family medical and dental practices in the Burlington area.
