Community Bank N.A. is pleased to announce John Gotsch has been hired as trust officer and David LaForest has been promoted to vice president and regional manager. Both are with Community Bank N.A. Trust Services in Manchester Center, VT.
Gotsch returns to his home state of Vermont to join Community Bank after having been employed in New York City at Wells Fargo, Citi and HSBC Bank as a relationship manager where he worked with clients and their families. In his new role, he will be responsible for trust and estate planning and administration. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance from Jacksonville State University accredited by AACSB International.
In LaForest’s new role, he will manage relationships in Southern Vermont, Massachusetts and the Albany region for Community Bank’s trust clients. He has spent nearly 30 years in the trust and investment business working with clients to achieve their financial goals. He was previously employed by Merchants Bank and has been with Community Bank since they acquired Merchants Bank in 2017. LaForest is actively involved with the community and is a board member on the finance committee for Greater Bennington Interfaith Community Services, Inc. He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Castleton University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix and holds the designation of Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA) from the American Bankers Association.
