We wanted to take a moment to honor and thank Jan Steinbauer (left), who has been the Vermont Humanities Council's Director of Literacy Programs since 2005. Jan retired from the position at the end of 2016. Under Jan's guidance, literacy programs like Connections, Never Too Early, Voices, and Humanities Camps for middle school students blossomed and grew.
Ali Palmer (right) recently joined VHC as our new Director of Literacy Programs. She has extensive experience teaching individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and ages; she received her MEd as a Reading Specialist from Saint Michael’s College. Ali is passionate about the importance of literacy for all Vermonters. You can find Ali's contact information on our Staff page.
