BAYADA Hospice announced that Kristin Barnum, RN, BSN, MBA —an expert in hospice and palliative care—has been promoted to Division Director. She will oversee hospice care offices that provide a comprehensive array of end of life services to patients and their families in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Barnum brings extensive hospice experience to her new role. She was the first person to join BAYADA Hospice in 2009 when it began providing care and previously served as Area Director of the BAYADA Hospice offices throughout Vermont.
“Kristin is a smart and exceptionally hard worker, who cares deeply for clients and her staff. She has built from scratch one of the finest rural hospice organizations in the country,” said BAYADA Division Director Adam Groff. “Kristin is passionate about high quality hospice care and treats every patient with the special attention they deserve. She is also one of the best ambassadors of The BAYADA Way – providing compassion, excellence, and reliability – which permeates her interactions with clients, referral sources and her team.”
“BAYADA Hospice provides high quality, patient-focused care at the end of life,” said Barnum. “I look forward to working with our network of offices to ensure that care reaches more patients and families who can benefit from our comforting services.”
Prior to joining BAYADA as an office director in 2009, Barnum was the director of a state-owned hospice organization in Shirley, MA. Before then, she managed the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and continuing education initiatives for Merrimack Valley Hospice in Lawrence, MA. She began her hospice career in New Hampshire as a field nurse.
