Hope Sullivan, executive director at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe, has been hired as executive director of the nonprofit arts organization Vermont Studio Center. She will begin her new role in May.
Sullivan brings to Vermont Studio significant experience in fundraising, program development, finance, marketing and advertising. In addition to her work at Spruce Peak, she has held positions at the Berkshire Arts Center, Barrington Stage Company and Goldman Sachs. She is a graduate of Ithaca College and holds a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University.
“Hope’s depth of experience and expertise in running arts organizations will allow her to build on VSC’s legacy as one of the largest international artists’ and writers’ residency programs in the United States,” said Interim Executive Director Brian Kennedy.
The Vermont Studio Center is nestled in picturesque Johnson, VT. Its buildings, many of them historic Vermont landmarks, overlook the Gihon River in the northern Green Mountains. After a full shut-down during the COVID pandemic, VSC has come back stronger than before, receiving more than 1,900 applications in October for just 140 spots.
