Vermont Studio Center has elected educators Peggy Williams, of Johnson, and Cyra Levenson, of Brooklyn, New York, to the organization’s board of trustees.
Before retiring in 2009, Williams served as president of Lyndon State College (now part of Vermont State University) for eight years and Ithaca College in upstate New York for 11 years. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds a Master of Education in higher education administration and planning from the University of Vermont and a Doctor of Education in administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University.
Levinson has served since 2020 as deputy director and Gail Engelberg Director of Education and Public Engagement at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. She is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio and holds a Master of Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peggy and Cyra to the VSC board,” said board chair Kate Rebernak. “Their commitment to the arts and extensive experience will be invaluable as we build on more than 40 years of support for artists and engagement in the global arts community.”
