The Vermont Community Garden Network introduces two new directors to the organization’s board

VCGN welcomes the following new Board of Directors members, who joined the organization’s leadership team on February 12, 2019: Joseph Kiefer, Food Justice Consultant, Montpelier and

Bill Wooden, Senior Project Design Engineer at DR Power, South Burlington.

VCGN’s mission is to support and grow the state’s vibrant network of community and school gardens. We work state-wide to: increase public access to community gardening resources; to develop outreach, education, and programs to cultivate and sustain community-based gardens; to ensure that underserved groups have equal opportunities for community, school, and neighborhood food production; and to cultivate political support for community-based gardening through networking, advocacy, and activism.

We envision a vibrant local food system where Vermonters of all ages experience the benefits of school, workplace, healthcare, affordable housing and neighborhood gardening and become healthier through improved diets, exercise, and positive social interactions.
