VBSR welcomes Ed Richters as finance and operations manager

Ed Richters

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility has announced the hiring of Ed Richters as finance and operations manager.

Richters has nearly 25 years' experience blending nonprofit and affordable housing accounting, arts production and advocacy, and solo entrepreneurship. He is an accounting graduate of the University of Rhode Island and spent many years with the Hartford, Connecticut-based public accounting firm Whittlesy, the largest CPA and consulting firm in the state.

Richters departed public accounting to focus on affordable housing, joining the affordable housing development company Vesta Corp., pioneers in the use of low-income housing tax credits. He later pivoted to the arts, working as a producer at Hartford’s Got Talent and as creative producer at Joe Young Entertainment, both in Connecticut. Last year, Richters and his wife relocated to Burlington, where he formed Pop Fusion, a solopreneur venture producing customizable, gourmet lollipops.

“Ed’s background in accounting, entrepreneurship and advocacy is a perfect fit for VBSR at this time as we seek continuous improvement of our financial and operations management,” said Executive Director Roxanne Vought. “His knowledge, skills and expertise will benefit our members in ways seen and unseen, adding value to their VBSR experience.”
