Two students with ties to Vermont have been awarded 2022 Graeme Clark Scholarships by Cochlear Limited, the global leader in implantable hearing solutions. The scholarships, established in 2002 to recognize exemplary academics in young leaders throughout the hearing loss community, provide recipients with $2,000 per year, for up to four years, to attend an accredited college or university.
Among the five awardees this year are Carys Jackson of Northampton, MA, who attends the University of Vermont, and Rayona Silverman of Charlotte, VT, who attends Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
The Graeme Clark Scholarships are named for Professor Graeme Clark, the inventor and pioneer of the multichannel cochlear implant.
