Blanche Podhajski, Ph.D., President and Founder of the Stern Center for Language and Learning, is pleased to announce that Katie D. Halsey, of Shelburne, has joined the Board of Directors. Ms. Halsey, a personal trainer with over a decade experience serving community boards joined the Stern Center for Language and Learning in January. In addition to the Board of Directors Ms. Halsey was the chairperson for the Gene Richards Roast, a very successful benefit for the Stern Center for Language and Learning.
The Stern Center for Language and Learning is dedicated to literacy for all. Many people who struggle with reading, writing, and mathematics do not learn the same way as those who easily achieve literacy. Stern Center professionals evaluate and teach all kinds of learners, including those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia or attention deficit disorders. The Stern Center is committed to helping individuals identify their learning strengths as well as their needs and to finding solutions that allow everyone to learn.
