He was recognized by VTrans as Employee of the Year in 1989, and in 2004, he was honored by the Vermont Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers as Engineer of the Year.

“Our clients and our steadily growing office will greatly benefit from Sherward’s deep local knowledge, industry relationships, and invaluable experience,” said Director of Engineering Services, Mark Colgan.

Farnsworth noted, “I'm an engineer, and there are still many bridges that need our attention in Vermont. I’ve collaborated with VHB on many projects for over twenty years. I’m excited to officially be part of their team, and I look forward to being able to share my experience with my new VHB colleagues.

A resident of Shelburne, VT, Farnsworth is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Vermont Society of Engineers, and National Railway Historical Society.
