Primmer Piper Eggleston and Cramer expands its healthcare and employment law practices with two new associates, Mary Elizabeth Platt and Sarah Butson. Mary Beth and Sarah will work with their teams at our Burlington, Vermont office.
Sarah assists the Labor and Employment team with counseling clients on routine grievance handling, labor arbitration, collective bargaining, alleged harassment, discrimination, workplace misconduct, and retaliation. She also drafts and reviews employee handbooks, policies, and employment agreements, including restrictive covenants. Before joining the firm, Sarah worked for a large international law firm in Boston, MA, where she assisted her team with a wide variety of employment-related matters.
Mary Beth works closely with the firm’s healthcare attorneys to advise diverse clients from hospitals to health information exchanges to designated agencies. Prior to joining the firm, Mary Beth worked for a regional multi-state health network where she developed operational processes and engaged in project management for implementing healthcare privacy regulations, enforced compliance with HIPAA/Federal and State law in healthcare facilities, supervised and administered business associate agreements with healthcare contractors and business partners, developed privacy and security policies in compliance with health privacy and security law, consumer privacy law, cybersecurity law, and risk assessment. Mary Beth received her JD from Albany Law School after earning her MBA in Healthcare at Clarkson University and her MS in Occupational Therapy at Sage Graduate College.
