New trustee joins hospital board

When Tom Milnamow and his wife Judy decided to keep moving north, they finally stopped at the Canadian border, falling in love with the northern most point of the Northeast Kingdom. Having visited southern Vermont since the mid-80’s and having a second home in the Stratton Mountain area, more recently they knew they wanted to make a change. Mr. Milnamow says, “I’m a white collar guy with a blue collar mentality and the area we were in was a little stiff.”

Milnamow is the most recent addition to North Country Hospital’s Board of Trustees, and now lives in Newport Center. He comes with a very substantial professional background, holding leadership sales and marketing positions with familiar major corporations like Xerox and Konica as well as the military, to a 23-year ownership of a full service commercial printing and mailing facility, First Impressions Printing Services, Inc. in Middletown, NY. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Creighton University Law School until he was drafted by the U.S. Army, becoming a Staff Sergeant (E-6) Platoon Leader in Vietnam, and ultimately awarded multiple Decorations for Combat Valor.

Tom has three current goals – close out the business he owned and led which he has already done, get involved in the local community, which he has dived into, and to find a job.

The hospital board of trustees will surely benefit from his extensive experience and down to earth personality. Other North Country Hospital board members include Kathryn Austin, Chair, Richard Baraw, Mark Beams, Rachel DiSanto, MD, Claudio Fort, NCH President & CEO, Gary Gillespie, Jennifer Ladd, MD, Scott Perry, Melissa Pettersson, Christopher Rickman, MD, Bill Stenger, Bob Wilson and Alan Wing.
