Robert D. Demont, President of Demont Associates, is pleased to announce the promotion of Lauren Geiger Moye to Vice President, New England West. Lauren joins Kate White Lewis, who will be focusing her energies as Vice President, New England East.
“Over the course of the last 16 years, Lauren has worked with Demont Associates as a volunteer, a development director, and a Senior Associate. We are delighted to recognize her contributions to client service, firm management, professional development of our associates, and philanthropic leadership with this promotion. Lauren walks the walk of philanthropy, in addition to talking the talk,especially through her board involvement in Vermont,” remarked Mr. Demont.
As Vice President of New England West, in addition to her position on the Management Team, new responsibilities include designing professional training opportunities for Demont staff. Ms. Moye will continue to serve Demont’s clients in the areas of feasibility studies, capital campaigns, grant writing, volunteer training, marketing and public relations, and Youth in Philanthropy.
Ms. Moye’s association with Demont Associates includes assignments with the Keewaydin Foundation (Salisbury, VT); The League of NH Craftsmen (Concord, NH); The Mayhew Program (Bristol, NH); Stowe Community Church (Stowe, VT); The Cathedral Church of St. Paul (Burlington, VT); Keene Family YMCA (Keene, NH), Franklin Medical Center (Greenfield, MA), Green Mountain Club (Waterbury, VT), St. John’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church (Stowe, VT), Boys & Girls Club of Burlington (Burlington, Vermont), and Ohavi Zedek Synagogue (Burlington, VT). She also worked with Demont Associates while serving as a volunteer for a capital campaign for the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum (St. Johnsbury, VT).
Ms. Moye has recently been appointed Chair of the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Sub-Committee, whose specific mission is to help chapters and the profession involve youth in philanthropy. The YIP Sub-Committee is an integral part of helping AFP engage young professionals and youth exploring philanthropy and building their fundraising careers.
Ms. Moye also serves as Vice Chair and Development Chair of the Vermont Women’s Fund and is a Board Member and Development Chair of Kingdom County Productions. She has recently served as the Recruiting Chair for Stevens School (Peacham, Vermont), and is a Fairbanks Museum Fellow. She is a former president of the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Northern New England, and a former Board member of the St Johnsbury Athenaeum.
Prior to joining Demont Associates, Ms. Moye served as Executive Director and Co-Producer at Kingdom County Productions (KCP) in Barnet, Vermont, where she was responsible for fund raising, public relations, sales and distribution, special events, donor relations, and publications. While at KCP, Ms. Moye co-produced two full-length feature films and one Emmy-award winning TV Series, Windy Acres.
From 1998-2003, she served as the Director of External Relations at Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium (St. Johnsbury, VT), responsible for increasing the Museum’s resources through management of annual and corporate giving, membership, foundation support, marketing, and public relations.
Before moving to Vermont, Ms. Moye was Associate Manager of Public Relations at the New York Public Library and publicist at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Ms. Moye graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in English Literature from Middlebury College. She lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband Richard, a professor at Lyndon State College, and her spirited teenage daughter Lizzie.
