Kids’ RehabGYM newly established

Sharon Gutwin PT, owner of the RehabGYM Inc., is pleased to announce the establishment of Kids’ RehabGYM as a 501c(3) non-profit organization.

Kids’ RehabGYM began supporting children with special needs and their families in 2007 through Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies along with offering fitness classes and family support services, servicing children from 0-22 years of age. It is the goal of KRG to provide a nurturing and welcoming community environment, where children and their families feel at home. Fostering community & family relationships enable children to grow and flourish. The mission of Kids’ RehabGYM is to educate families in the importance of motor development, how to achieve developmental milestones and to assist their children in gaining their highest level of independence and life satisfaction. The following are those facilitating the operation.

Ashley Bennett DPT: Executive Director of Kids’ RehabGYM, hired in May 2011, has been both managing the business of Kids’ RehabGYM and providing Physical Therapy services.

Scott Benjamin M.D.: an MD at Fletcher Allen for almost 9 years and recently has been appointed as faculty at UVM in Ortho/Rehab and Pediatrics. He is also the only certified Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine specialist in Vermont,

Mark Perkell. Esq: legal and business adviser. He is the former General Counsel for CityNet Telecommunication, Athena Technologies, Long Distance North and New England Regional Counsel and Senior Regulatory Attorney for Frontier Communications. He has also served as General Manager of Interpath, a telecom division of Carolina Light & Power Co. Mark currently serves as a strategic advisor to the Public Technology Institute in Washington, DC and as a board member of CCTV, The Laura Mann Center.

Jessica Gooden: Assistant Branch Manager for NBT Bank at Taft Corners in Williston. B.A. in Psychology from Flagler College.

Jan Shanks: Cigna Health Care manager of behavioral accounts for the northeast sales region. Shanks has a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Missouri.

Frederick Neu: Interfaith Chaplain at Fletcher Allen Health Care and co-founder of Good News Garage.
