Howard Center welcomes new director of home and community services

Liz Mitchell, director of the Early Childhood Family Mental Health Program at the Howard Center, was appointed as the center's new director of home and community services, effective Feb 6. She succeeds Beth Holden, who was promoted to chief client services officer.

Mitchell brings to her new role over 37 years of experience in social work, including 19 years at the early childhood family mental health program. She holds a clinical social work license in Vermont and previously held one in Pennsylvania.

"We are so pleased to welcome Liz as our new director of home and community services," said CEO Bob Bick. "Her wealth of experience, clinical and leadership skills, and shared commitment to serving children and families will continue to be a valuable asset to our team."

As part of her new responsibilities, Mitchell joins the Howard Center leadership team and the client services cabinet, where she provides leadership and ensures clinical best practices in a range of programs serving children and families. She also will work with staff, leadership, board and community partners to ensure Howard Center continues to meet the needs of its clients and their families.
