St. Johnsbury attorney Deborah Bucknam was unanimously elected as vice chair of the Vermont Republican Party at the Vermont Republican State Committee Meeting on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
Bucknam has been active in Republican politics for over a decade, first as vice chair of the Caledonia County Republican Party, then as Chair. She has served on many county and state committees and helped her husband Charlie Bucknam run his campaign for State Senate in 2010.
She graduated from Vermont Law School in 1979, and has been in private law practice ever since, owning her own firm since 1986. The Bucknam’s have two married daughters and 11 grandchildren.
Ms. Bucknam is also the founder of POWW, a womans group that meets monthly in St Johnsbury and in Walden, where the Bucknams live.
