CCTV Center for Media & Democracy announces new board members

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy, a media and free speech organization that operates Channel 17/Town Meeting Television, CCTV Productions and Common Good Vermont announces two new members to its Board of Trustees.

Eli Harrington, Director of the International Visitor Leadership Program at the Vermont Council on World Affairs has joined the board for a three-year term. Mr. Harrington is a native Vermonter from Winooski. He attended Brandeis University and majored in International and Global Studies-Communication and Media.

The Vermont Council on World Affairs, an affiliate of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, works to bring world-class speakers to Vermont, hosts discussion groups on U.S. foreign policy issues and hosts tours from around the world in Vermont to promote international understanding. Mr. Harrington will be a television host on Channel 17's Town Meeting Day Results Coverage March 6th at 7 p.m.

Also joining the board is Jane E. Knodell, Provost and Senior Vice President of the University of Vermont. Ms. Knodell has been a member of the faculty of UVM since 1986 and has served the University in a variety of administrative roles, including Chair of the Department of Economics, Interim Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Associate Provost for Budget and Capital Planning.

Other members of CCTV’s Board of Trustees include: Lisa Andrew, President and CEO of Red Sapphire Consulting – a business development and strategic marketing firm; Art Bell, owner of Burlington-based Dreamlike Pictures – a global media production company; Michael McNamara, Vermont Director with the U.S. Housing and Urban Development; Mark Perkell, Esq.- a telecommunications lawyer; Jane Van Buren, Executive Director of Women Helping Battered Women; and Board President Karen Wingate, Contract Specialist for Tetra Tech ARD in Burlington.
