BNI Vermont appoints new director consultant

BNI Vermont has announced that Megan Waite has been appointed to the position of Director Consultant.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Megan as part of the official BNI Vermont team,” said Vickie Wacek, Executive Director of BNI Vermont. “She brings true business savvy and a tremendous amount of experience both as a long-time BNI member and ambassador and as an entrepreneur and business owner,” Wacek expanded.

As a Director Consultant, Waite will provide ongoing training and support for the more than 175 members of three of the larger BNI chapters in Chittenden & Franklin Counties. A licensed physical therapist and certified health coach, Waite joined BNI in 2011 as a way to market and network her health coaching business, Does IT Fit.

“In my previous roles in healthcare, I was accustomed to working in an environment where patients came to you,” Waite said. “BNI helped me market my business; and network myself; making meaningful connections that led to soild referrals. That’s the primary focus of the organization, and it works,” Waite enthused.

Waite will work with the individual chapters to help them meet their goals and groom the leadership teams, which change each year, as well as guiding and advising individual group members in how to best utilize BNI Vermont to grow their business.

“BNI Vermont has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years,” Wacek noted. “As our membership continues expanding and the number of chapters in Vermont continues to grow we will be adding more positions within our administrative staff here in Vermont,” stated Wacek.

Established in 2001, BNI Vermont is a membership-based business networking organization with 11 chapters and more than 250 member businesses throughout the state. Vermont chapter members exchanged referrals resulting in closed business of more than 6.6 million dollars in the past 12 months. Chapters meet weekly to learn about each other’s businesses and how they may assist each other in generating solid business referrals.

The Mission of BNI (Business Network International) is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive and professional referral marketing program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals. The philosophy of BNI is built upon the idea of “Givers Gain.” In 2015, the 190,000 members of BNI worldwide passed over 7.7million referrals which resulted in more than $9.3billion in business.
