(St. Johnsbury) Wynne W. Browne of Peacham has been awarded the Diane R. Lynch Distinguished Service Award at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. The award is given annually to an employee who has demonstrated the loyalty, dedication, energy, drive, selflessness, good nature, humor and commitment that former human resources manager Diane Lynch exemplified in her years with the firm. The winner was announced at the firm’s annual holiday dinner, held this month at the Stoweflake Resort and Conference Center.
As the firm’s library services director, Browne provides legal research and case support services in all DRM offices that are integral to the work of the firm. In addition, she maintains the firm’s print and online legal reference materials, supervises the conflict search process and oversees the maintenance, storage and retrieval of client files.
“During the 26 years she has worked at DRM, Wynne has played a vital role in the firm’s adoption and use of cutting-edge electronic information technologies,” said Paul H. Ode Jr., DRM’s managing partner and CEO. “Her ability to research the law is extraordinary, and the added value her work brings to our clients is significant.”
Browne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Library Science degree from Simmons College. Active in a number of professional library organizations, she serves as treasurer of the Vermont Library Association. She is a member of the Peacham School Board and volunteers at the Peacham Library.
Diane Lynch joined the firm in 1974 as a secretary, and worked for more than 20 years in the firm’s St. Johnsbury Office. She was named office manager in 1976 and personnel and administrative manager in 1983. She passed away on November 29, 2000, shortly before the first Diane R. Lynch Distinguished Service Award was presented.
