Jon Margolis, a regular panelist on Vermont Public Television’s “Vermont
This Week,” closed his Vermont Newsguy blog last month, but he will continue
to keep an eye on Vermont news.
Margolis will be on the program Friday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. (re-airs
Sunday at 11:30 a.m.), in his last appearance as the “Newsguy.” He will
announce his new assignment as special correspondent for Vermont Public
Television's web site, vpt.org. Starting in January 2011, Margolis will
contribute several special reports a year. He plans to make them in-depth
reports on subjects not being covered by the state’s news organizations.
When he posts a report, he will join the panel on “Vermont This Week” to
discuss it, along with the other stories of the week.
A resident of Barton, Vt., Margolis is the author of three books. He was
the national political correspondent for the Chicago Tribune, and has held
many other positions in journalism. He is also an adjunct professor of
political science at the University of Vermont.
