UVM Health Network welcomes Jessica Moschella as SVP of high value care

Jessica Moschella, former executive director of the Newton-Wellesley Physician Hospital Organization and vice president of provider network performance, has been named senior vice president for high value care at the University of Vermont Health Network, effective Jan 23. In her new role, Moschella will be responsible for leading the organization’s work to improve outcomes for populations of patients across Vermont and New York, and to advance value within the care delivery system.

High value care, also known as value-based care, focuses on evolving how patients receive care to maximize outcomes while managing costs.

“Value-based care is our opportunity to fundamentally change the health care delivery system and improve care for patients, providers, care teams and communities,” said Moschella. “I’m passionate about eliminating health care disparities and building systems of care that are equitable, inclusive and that care efficiently and effectively for our most vulnerable patients and populations.”

The Vermont Health Network’s HVC function focuses on aligning health care delivery with reimbursement and community resources to achieve the best health care outcomes and value for patients. This involves supporting health care practitioners at the point-of-care with data, care management, technology innovations, communication and coordination.

“As a leader with broad experience implementing population health and care delivery programs, and a commitment to access and health equity, Jessica will be instrumental in setting and executing our network’s high value care goals, so that our providers and patients can experience the full benefits of this timely work,” said Dr Jason Sanders, the network’s executive vice president for clinical affairs. “We’re delighted to welcome her to our team and communities.”

Moschella is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
